Camp Brooklyn To Honor Famed Director Spike Lee

Famed Director Spike Lee will be honored at an auction to benefit Children's charity Camp Brooklyn this December.

Camp Brooklyn was founded by Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz, who will present Lee with the 20th Anniversary Mickey Mantle Community Service Award.

The auction will raise funds for Camp Brooklyn, which gives children a chance to leave their urban environments, to learn about teamwork, loyalty, community service, responsibility, personal respect and other areas of development.

Lee is being honored for his ground breaking film work in addition to his on going community service in Brooklyn and the greater New York area.

Items being auctioned include a walk on role in Lee’s next movie, a Bruce Springsteen signed acoustic guitar, a 4-day Carnival cruise, sailing from New York and an Alex Rodriguez No. 13 autographed New York Yankee's pin-striped jersey.
